| Michael Smith was born in Harrisonville, Missouri in 1971 and grew up on a family farm. After high school, Michael attended College of the Ozarks near Branson, Missouri and graduated as senior class president with a B.A. in American history. He is still involved with his alma mater by serving as the alumni agent for his class. Michael also later attended the University of Missouri- Kansas City where he earned his M.A., also in American history. Michael reviewed films professionally for nearly 10 years for newspapers in the Kansas City area, including a stint as entertainment editor at Sun Publications in Overland Park, Kansas, and for radio, which included working with Logan St. James on the “Fine Arts Radio Hour.” During his free time he has volunteered as a little league baseball coach and worked as the stadium sound engineer for the Kansas City Shockers, a minor league football team in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. Michael both writes the weekly segment "The Veteran's Minute" and lends his voice talents to the It's Branson Tonight Radio Show.
