Michael Smith was born in Harrisonville, Missouri in 1971 and
grew up on a family farm. After high school, Michael attended
College of the Ozarks near Branson, Missouri and graduated as
senior class president with a B.A. in American history. He is still
involved with his alma mater by serving as the alumni agent for
his class. Michael also later attended the University of Missouri-
Kansas City where he earned his M.A., also in American history.

Michael reviewed films professionally for nearly 10 years for
newspapers in the Kansas City area, including a stint as
entertainment editor at Sun Publications in Overland Park,
Kansas, and for radio, which included working with Logan St.
James on the “Fine Arts Radio Hour.” During his free time he has
volunteered as a little league baseball coach and worked as the
stadium sound engineer for the
Kansas City Shockers, a minor
league football team in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. Michael both
writes the weekly segment
"The Veteran's Minute" and lends his
voice talents to the
It's Branson Tonight Radio Show.

Despite his charm, intelligence and good looks, Michael is still
single.
